LARRATE TRAIL 21KM

The 21 km Half Marathon with 700 m of elevation gain is the most demanding route in the event, designed for runners seeking a genuine physical and mental challenge. It begins with 1 km of urban and wide-track running before tackling, at the 2 km mark, a trail climb with gradients of up to 28% to Las Antenas, followed by a technical descent through the trees. Between km 3 and 4, the route alternates between tracks and trails with several ups and downs, notably the technical descent along the firebreak. The route continues towards La Rabosera, with a climb to the Cueva de los Rabosos at km 6, one of the race’s most iconic spots. The route descends and turns left to enter a fast, fun and very runner-friendly section, with a continuous series of short climbs and descents that continues until km 12, a particularly isolated area where managing your effort well is key.

Next comes the beautiful and steep descent of the Puyalato firebreak, which drops decisively down to river level. From there, the route continues along a gruelling trail before tackling the toughest climb on the circuit: the Voladero, a 300-metre stretch with gradients of up to 32%, which will put all runners to the test.

At the 15 km mark, a flat stretch allows runners to regain their composure whilst enjoying the views of the Aragón Valley and the riverbank. The route crosses the Mirador path and begins the descent along a track beside the Sangüesa road, before tackling the final two climbs of the day. The last one pushes runners to their limits, but there are now only 2 km of descent left to the finish line.
